WHAT WE MEASURE?
During your Performance+ Running Assessment We Evaluate Three Key Components Crucial for Optimal Running Performance.
- Functional Range: Running is about so much more than your form - we take a wholistic approach to improving your form by looking at functional movement patterns including mobility, strength, and overall biomechanics.
- Aerobic Fitness (VO2 Max Estimate): Using validated indirect VO₂ testing protocols, we assess your Aerobic Capacity through a structured treadmill test. This provides an estimate of your VO₂ max, one of the strongest predictors of endurance performance.
- Running Mechanics (Treadmill Gait Analysis): we conduct 2 video-based gait analysis to evaluate how you move while running. We assess key elements of efficient running including foot strike pattern, stride length & cadence, ground contact time, vertical oscillation, hip stability & pelvic control, knee alignment, arm and body positioning.

Keelan, CEO
Keelan is the sole Owner and Operator of BPM, which he opened in 2016. With over 20-years experience working in the fitness industry, Keelan graduated from the University of Victoria with a degree in Recreation and Health Education with a focus on exercise science and nutrition. He’s a Certified Weight Trainer, Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, CrossFit Level-1 Trainer, and Movement Specialist which allows him to work with a diverse clientele from rehab to Olympic lifting, sport-conditioning, and everything in-between. With compassion and care, Keelan uses a proven, science-driven, blueprint to give his clients the tools and guidance for achieving life-changing results in a short amount of time. Outside of BPM, he can be found woodworking, or scheming up a saucy new workout.
Sage, General Manager
Sage grew up doing about every sport under the sun, but All-star Cheerleading was where she spent most of her time. It gave her a love of hard work, an appreciation for teamwork, and the completely unnecessary ability to do a backflip.
These days, you’ll usually find her lifting weights, running an abnormal amount, or convincing herself that one more surf trip is a good idea. When she’s not outside, she’s either at BPM or pretending she’s caught up on her Kinesiology degree at UVic.
As General Manager, she’s the one making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes; which mostly means answering everyone’s questions, solving problems before they become your problem, and running off way too much caffeine.
Not only is Sage a HYROX Performance Certified Coach, but she also claims to have the best workout playlists (she’ll happily debate anyone who disagrees). She has a slight obsession with burpees and firmly believes they’re good for the soul…even if you don’t agree in the moment.
Daniel, SENIOR Trainer
Daniel has been involved in high level sports, weight training, and coaching for over 7-years. He holds a BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Colorado Christian University where he also played collegiate baseball for 4-years. He received his Certificate as a Personal Trainer from ISSA (International Sports Science Association) and is a Certified Online Personal Trainer from OTA (Online Training Academy), as well as a TPI Specialist (Titleist Performance Institute). Daniel’s focus is on the movement and technical skills of weight training and coaches a variety of modalities including powerlifting, weight lifting, bodybuilding, powerbuilding, mobility, and conditioning. Outside of BPM, his hobbies include golfing, hiking, and reading.
Nitasha, Coach
Nitasha’s passion for fitness was ignited by her love for Olympic lifts and the dynamic energy of cross conditioning workouts. As a certified CrossFit Level-1 Trainer and a seasoned gymnast, she brings a wealth of expertise and a fresh perspective to coaching. Since joining BPM in 2019, she’s honed her skills in simplifying complex training concepts, making them accessible and relatable for all. The gym isn’t just a space for Nitasha—it’s the foundation of her healthy lifestyle, fueling her active pursuits beyond its walls. If you’re on a mission to gain strength, boost endurance, or simply enjoy the thrill of fitness, Nitasha is ready to guide you. Let’s unite at the studio and kickstart an incredible fitness journey together!
Xia, Treat Tester
Xia is BPM’s official Puppy Ambassador and self-appointed treat tester. When she’s not barking at clients to work harder she can be found napping on equipment, doing tricks (for treats of course), and ignoring all the commands her dad (Coach Keeks) and mom (Coach Ivona) give her. If you’re lucky, you might catch Xia at class performing paws squats, or working on her pawsture, but always with a pawsitive attitude.
Ivona, Coach
Ivona, also known as gym mom, or the real boss of BPM, found her love of fitness in the same community she now coaches. With a Masters in Environment and Resource Management and a BSc in Biochemistry, this scientist is not from your typical fitness background. Her love for a solid sweat transferred some of those brains to brawn and when not attending classes herself, you can find the HYROX Certified coach cheering you on in a workout. Suggest a good read and you might just get out of doing burpees!
BEN, Coach
Coming to us all the way from Ole Blighty (England), Ben is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and avid connoisseur of tea and biscuits … and some pretty challenging workouts! Finishing Carpenter by day and Coach by night, Ben began at BPM in 2022 as a member turned Coach and has blessed us with his knowledge and experience of Olympic lifting, high-intensity workouts, and chic British teas. When he’s not at BPM, you can find Ben shredding the gnar at Mt. Washington or enjoying a pot of brown water (tea).
STEPH, KINESIOLOGIST
This CSEP-Certified Personal Trainer, BCAK Kinesiologist, and Acro Yoga Instructor with a passion for handstands is all about overcoming obstacles and feeling in control of your body. Whether you’re looking to prevent injuries, rehabilitate, or smash personal goals, she’s your go-to for support, motivation, and a solid plan. Stephanie loves corrective exercises, functional training, calisthenics, weight lifting, and striving for that bilateral symmetry that seems to evade us mortals. When she isn’t helping others with their fitness you can find her working on her handstands or partner acro skills, backpacking our amazing island, or trying to find time to knit.
BRADY, KINESIOLOGIST
Brady’s roots span across the diverse landscapes of Canada, from the East Coast to Vancouver Island. With a gold-standard Personal Training certification from the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, he’s not just an avid fitness enthusiast but a committed scholar too. As a third-year honors student at Camosun College, Brady is working toward his BA in Kinesiology, eyeing a future Masters in Physiotherapy. His expertise lie in corrective exercise and functional strength training, complemented by a keen interest in calisthenics and skills enhancement. For Brady, the journey is about persistent growth, embracing setbacks, pushing limits, and thirsting for knowledge. Beyond BPM’s walls, he juggles intense study sessions with quality time among friends, ever in pursuit of balance.
AIDYN, PERSONAL TRAINER
Born and raised Victorian, Aidyn has a BA in Kinesiology and a passion for helping people from all walks of life.
Whether you’re new to fitness, an athlete, or looking to rehab a fussy injury, Aidyn brings a wealth of education and experience to every training session.
ANDY, PERSONAL TRAINER
Andy is a Scottish strength & conditioning coach with a background in rugby. He brings a performance-driven mindset while making training accessible and enjoyable for everyone. He prioritizes proper technique, steady progression, and smart programming to help clients build real, lasting strength safely and confidently. My goal isn’t just to deliver results, but to help clients enjoy the training process, move better, feel stronger, and develop a clear understanding of each movement.
HANA, Coach
Hana is a self-proclaimed lover of “type 2 fun.” With a background in varsity rowing, she has a competitive drive and loves working out with a team. Whether it’s on a running trail, on a bike, or in the gym, Hana loves being active and inspiring others to do the same!
HAYDN, PERSONAL TRAINER
Since 2017, Haydn has combined his passion for fitness with helping others build strength, improve cardiovascular fitness, and perform at their best in competition. With a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education and certifications as a CPT, Conditioning Coach, and Nutritionist, he brings a results-driven yet practical approach to training.
From three Hyrox podium finishes to a national rowing title, Haydn understands what it takes to compete at a high level. He also has extensive hands-on experience working with injuries and knows how to tailor programs to keep you progressing safely.
He’ll help you take the guesswork out of training and guide you toward your health and performance goals.
ALLIE, ASSISTANT MANAGER
Talk about small but mighty! All the way from Ottawa, Allie brings her enthusiasm for life and dogs everywhere she goes. Her Arctic rescue pup, Tippy, is also never too far behind. By trade, Allie is a communications and social media specialist. With over a decade in various strength sports and experience as a personal trainer under her belt, she lives by the barbell. She loves lifting heavy and balancing strength with longevity and health. She is always down to hear about your latest craft or DIY project!
LEANNE, MEMBER REP
Originally from Almonte, Ontario, Leanne has also called Ottawa, Halifax, and Toronto home before putting down roots on Vancouver Island. A retired varsity hockey player turned photographer and marketer, she values living an active lifestyle and feels right at home in the BPM community. She loves challenging herself and is happiest surrounded by people who push each other to be their best. Through her photography and content creation, she’s passionate about capturing the grit, energy, and athleticism that is not only an art – but a way of life. If she’s not at the gym, she’s probably behind a camera, exploring the Island, or spending time with her dog and her cat. Say hi next time you’re in – she’s always up for a chat, especially if it’s about sports, traveling, or your next fitness challenge.
MADDY, PERSONAL TRAINER, RUN COACH
Maddy is a national-level runner and the fastest Canadian female in HYROX history after winning her age group at the 2026 HYROX World Championships. She is completing a Master’s of Kinesiology at the University of Victoria while competing for the UVic Varsity Track & Cross Country team.
Originally from Ontario, Maddy earned her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and has over four years of personal training experience, alongside coaching varsity athletes, sport teams, and fitness classes.
At BPM Fitness Centre, Maddy specializes in Performance+ Running Assessments and Personal Training. She is passionate about helping clients move better, perform their best, and achieve lasting results, regardless of experience or ability.
NICK, PERSONAL TRAINER
Nick is a CSEP Certified Personal Trainer and holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin). His passion for training began at an early age while pursuing competitive basketball with the goal of playing at the collegiate level. Through that journey, he discovered that helping others improve their performance and achieve their goals was just as rewarding as pursuing his own.
Nick has experience working with clients of all ages and abilities, from individuals looking to improve their health and quality of life to academy and professional rugby players striving to perform at the highest level.
No matter your starting point, Nick’s goal is to help you move with confidence, perform at your best, and build the physical capacity you need to excel at the activities that matter most to you.
CONOR, PERSONAL TRAINER
Born and raised in Wolverhampton, England, I moved to Alberta at 14 before pursuing rugby, playing semi-professionally in Australia, England, and Canada after earning a scholarship to Shawnigan Lake School. My passion for performance led me to complete a Bachelor of Science in Strength and Conditioning through Setanta College in Ireland. An internship with Rugby Canada evolved into my role as Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Pacific Pride Development Academy, where I worked with Canada’s Senior Men’s, U20 Men’s, and Sevens teams. Today, I’m excited to bring that experience to BPM and help clients train harder, move better, and achieve their goals.
NEVADA, MEMBER REP
Originally from rural Alberta, Nevada has always embraced an active lifestyle, from hockey, dance, kickboxing, and farm life to camping, hiking, and solo travel across more than 10 countries. Her fitness journey began as a teenager, training to improve athletic performance, and she continues to challenge herself through strength and endurance training. Outside the gym, Nevada enjoys photography, writing, sketching, and exploring Vancouver Island with a film camera in hand. She joined BPM as a member before becoming part of the team and loves the welcoming community she’s found here. Whether you’re talking books, craft breweries, or adventure, she’s always happy to chat.
