These 3 Victorians Are Headed to HYROX Worlds

The global rise of HYROX World Championships has transformed fitness racing into one of the fastest-growing sports in the world — and this year, three Athletes running under the banner of Victoria gym, BPM Fitness Centre, are proving that Victoria belongs on the international stage.

Local athletes Madelyn Eybergen, Haydn Thomas, and Courtney Hayre have all qualified for HYROX Worlds through elite-level performances across Canada. At over 1 million HYROX participants this year, these three athletes are in the top 4.6% of global HYROX competitors. But beyond race times, they represent something bigger: discipline, humility, leadership, and a commitment to helping others improve.

As BPM Sponsored Athlete Ambassadors, all three athletes embody the culture BPM strives to build — performance without ego, consistency without shortcuts, and community alongside competition.

Madelyn Eybergen: Elite Across Multiple Disciplines

Madelyn Eybergen has become one of the most impressive endurance athletes in Canada — not just in HYROX, but across multiple sports.

At HYROX Vancouver, Maddy ran an exceptional 1:04:02 in the Pro Women division, placing herself among Canada’s elite HYROX competitors.

But her success extends far beyond fitness racing.

Just days ago, Eybergen won the 2026 Victoria Track Classic 5000m in a massive personal best time of 15:30.36, improving by 16 seconds in what Athletics Illustrated described as “ideal conditions.”

The article also highlighted her tactical maturity and composure, noting that she was prepared to run portions of the race alone once pacing support dropped off.

Earlier this year, Maddy also won the 2026 TC10K in Victoria — remarkably, in just her first-ever 10K road race.

Her progression has been extraordinary. After transitioning from high jump to endurance running only a few years ago, she has rapidly emerged as one of the strongest distance athletes in the country.

At BPM Fitness Centre, Maddy brings that same level of focus and professionalism into her role as a Coach and Personal Trainer. Whether she’s helping someone improve their running mechanics, prepare for HYROX, or simply gain confidence in the gym, she leads by example every day.

Haydn Thomas Breaks the 60-Minute Barrier

In HYROX, breaking 60 minutes in the Pro Men division is considered a major milestone.

Victoria athlete Haydn Thomas did exactly that, running an impressive 59:24 at HYROX Ottawa.

That level of performance requires far more than raw fitness. HYROX demands endurance, strength, pacing strategy, movement efficiency, and the ability to stay composed under fatigue.

Haydn has become known for combining all of those elements at a high level — and now helps others apply them through his coaching at BPM Fitness Centre.

For athletes looking to improve HYROX performance, running efficiency, conditioning, or strength endurance, there is enormous value in learning from someone actively competing on the world stage.

Haydn and Maddy have also proven to be an elite doubles pairing, recently posting standout mixed doubles performances together on the HYROX circuit.

Courtney Hayre Continues to Inspire

Courtney Hayre earned her HYROX World Championship qualification after posting a remarkable 1:07:51 performance in Toronto.

Her results place her among the top HYROX athletes in her division nationally, but her impact reaches beyond competition.

Courtney represents consistency.

In a fitness industry often obsessed with extremes and quick fixes, she demonstrates what long-term discipline, smart training, and resilience can achieve over time.

She has become an inspiring example for many athletes entering the HYROX space — especially women looking to challenge themselves in strength and endurance competition.

More Than Race Times

At BPM Fitness Centre, sponsorship is not simply about podium finishes or social media attention.

It’s about character.

Maddy, Haydn, and Courtney all represent the type of culture BPM believes fitness should create: supportive, high-performing, welcoming, and growth-oriented.

Their success also reflects the growing HYROX movement in Victoria and the increasing number of people pursuing hybrid fitness training, running performance, and strength-endurance competition.

As HYROX continues expanding worldwide, Victoria now has athletes competing — and succeeding — at the highest level.

And for anyone inspired by their journey, the best part is this: You can train alongside them right here in Victoria!
